Lundy photomerge

Its been a busy summer and I have spent a lot of time away from my computer and my on-line world. Its been an interesting time and I did not miss the world wide web as much as I thought I would. However, I was happy to rediscover the Internet and having so much information at my fingertips.
One the places i have been to recently is Lundy, a island 3 miles in length, located in the Bristol Channel. I manged to get quite a few good shots which I am the processing at the moment and will upload soon.
Today I tried my hand at photomerge using Photoshop and some of the pictures I took in Lundy. I started with a picture of a wall which I took for this very purpose. I then added a silhouette of the Old Light and picture of wooden cargo box. I used the blending mode ‘Hard Light’ and moved the elements around until i was happy with the result. I then used a layer mask to hide elements of the box and copied the wooden texture across the image to give a uniform appearance.
